Traveling with children

When traveling with children, ensure they are correctly placed in child seats. Children under 13 years old are not allowed to sit in the front seat. Venezuela enforces mandatory types of child seats depending on a child’s age and size. Children from 15 months to 3 years should be in a rear-facing child seat. For children aged 4 to 5, a forward-facing child seat is recommended.

Children between 6 and 11 years old and about 25 kg should use a booster seat. Children who are 12 years old must sit in the back seat and use a booster seat if they weigh about 35 kg. Violating this rule results in a fine ranging from $66,000 to $132,000.
