The document you need when driving in Zimbabwe is an International Driving Permit (IDP). This translates your national driver’s license into English. If you will be staying in the country for less than three months, you can apply for an IDP with us by clicking on the “Start my application” button. Make sure you meet all requirements, including a valid national driver’s license, passport photo, and vehicle details if you are renting a car.
For a stay longer than three months, you must have a valid driver’s license and take a test at the Zimbabwe Driving License Authority (ZDLA). You need to pass the theory exam, practical exam, and vision tests.
During the ZDLA process, you will be guided by an instructor and use a provided car for the exams.
The price for an IDP in Zimbabwe is only $25. The application process can be easily completed in three steps, as described earlier.
Foreigners are allowed to drive in Zimbabwe with a valid national driver’s license and an IDP. This document is essential for driving, checkpoints, violations, and car rentals. The IDP translates your driver’s license into English or other widely spoken languages worldwide.
Countries that recognize our IDP include Afghanistan, Botswana, Congo, Ireland, Japan, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Switzerland, among others.
An expired International Driving Permit in Zimbabwe can easily be renewed with us. Fill out the application form and receive an update on approval within two hours. The IDPs are valid for one to three years, and international shipping is available.
